Antique Two-Day Marine Chronometer By Dobbie McInnes Of Glasgow


A good 2-day mahogany cased marine chronometer by this well-known maker to the Admiralty, Dobbie McInnes Ltd., numbered 1/3026.
The mahogany 3-tier case has brass side carrying handles and gimballed bowl housing the 56-hour movement of excellent quality, with spotted plates, spring-detect escapement and substantial compensated balance wheel.
The 10cm circular silvered and engraved dial has gold hands and subsidiaries for the seconds and state of wind indication.






Sir James Dobbie was joined by T.S. McInnes to form this successful partnership to supply the Admiralty with precision timekeepers and also scientific instruments.
