Antique George III period provincial yew-wood and walnut bureau

A George III period provincial bureau unusually veneered in wonderfully patinated Yew- wood and walnut with satinwood banding. The rectangular top above a fall which encloses an original interior of small drawers and pigeon holes. Below are four graduated pine lined drawers all retaining their original brass plate handles and escutcheons. The bureau is raised on shaped bracket feet.

Yew-wood bureaus of small size, good proportions and lovely colour are extremely rare.
