George III ebonised bracket clock by William Allam

A fine 18th century ebonised striking bracket clock of rarer, smaller size.

The well proportioned bell-top ebonised case is surmounted by a cast brass carrying handle and four pine cone finials.

The 6 inch signed, brass dial has twin subsidiary dials for Strike/Silent and for slow/fast regulation. There are mock pendulum and date apertures within the matted centre of the dial.

The five pillar fusee movement has an engraved, signed backplate with verge escapement and arbor striking on a bell.
